For the first time in over twenty years, Sanrio, the creator of Hello Kitty, is preparing two feature films for theatrical release, reports The Associated Press via Yahoo! News. Each of the projects will star brand-new characters, focusing on canine and rodent populations. Eyeing a 2007 release date, the films will be presented as a double feature. In the meantime, Sanrio is also working on 26 episodes of an updated Hello Kitty television series.
