CGCHAR reports that CORE Digital Pictures, the studio behind Walt Disney Pictures’ The Wild, is on a quest for box office success as it develops four in-house computer animated projects. While the movies’ plots are unknown at this time, the first of the films will likely hit theaters by 2010. Responding to worries that the computer animation market may already be too crowded for new investments, Ron Estey, CORE’s managing director, answers, “Hollywood produces something like 450 live action films a year, and… is producing over a dozen animated feature films this year. If the story is good and well crafted, it will find an audience.”
