The Walt Disney Co. and Target have reached a truce, providing some relief from a recent conflict over DVD pricing, writes the Los Angeles Times. “Target had begun taking down some signs advertising Disney DVDs and moving others to unfavorable locations after Disney refused to lower the wholesale prices of the products to the level of those offered by Apple on its iTunes online store,” summarizes the Studio Briefing of the IMDB. In retaliation to Target’s act, Disney threatened not to supply the retailer with DVDs of such titles as Cars and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, noticing many consumers continue to enjoy the DVD extras that iTunes does not currently carry. To settle the dispute, Disney will grant Target an exclusive Winnie the Pooh product line, as long as the store chain gives fair treatment toward the Mouse House’s DVDs.
