The Summer 2006 Convention of the National Fantasy Fan Club experienced a setback earlier today when head of the Disney Studio, Dick Cook, was unable to give his expected presentation, according to o-meon. “As he has done for the past two years, he was expected to present a brief overview, similar to the briefing he regularly gives to the Disney board, of the studio’s upcoming theatrical releases before treating them to an advanced screening of an as of yet to be released Disney film.” Disney archivist Dave Smith, however, will be speaking tomorrow on the topic, “Welcome Back, Oswald,” and there are many other opportunities for collectors of Disney memorabilia to avail themselves of at the convention.
