As has been the case all too often recently, we have to report the passing of another light in animation’s rich legacy, with a report in today’s The Guardian newspaper, which has announced the death of Carmen Miranda’s sister Aurora. Ms Miranda did not achieved the global success that her older sister did, but it was down to Carmen not being available that Aurora landed the main role in Walt Disney’s 1944 package feature The Three Caballeros, becoming the first human celebrity to appear in full color, live-action/animation combination sequences, and with the Studio’s biggest star, Donald Duck, no less. Aurora Miranda died aged 90.
