The Hollywood Reporter reports that sixteen full-length animated features have qualified to compete in the best animated feature film category at the 79th annual Academy Awards. It’s the first time since 2002 that there could be five nominees in the category.
The eligible films are: The Ant Bully (Warner Bros.), Arthur and the Invisibles (Weinstein/MGM), Barnyard (Paramount), Cars (Disney/Pixar), Curious George (Universal), Everyone’s Hero (Fox), Flushed Away (DreamWorks/Aardman), Happy Feet (Warner Bros.), Ice Age: The Meltdown (20th Century Fox), Monster House (Sony), Open Season (Sony), Over the Hedge (DreamWorks), Paprika (Sony Pictures Classics), Renaissance (Miramax), A Scanner Darkly (Warner Independent), and The Wild (Disney).
