Reports “marvel_demon” at the Yahoo! Finance Message Boards, Indian tennis legend Vijay Amritraj’s firm First Serve Toonz is teaming with Marvel Entertainment on a new animated X-Men series that will center on the character Wolverine. According to the deal’s terms, FST will begin pre-production immediately on 26 episodes, which will mix traditional and computer generated animation. First Serve Toonz will produce the series, as Marvel Studios and FST handle its creative direction. Moreover, international television and DVD distribution will be managed by FST; U.S. distribution rights will be retained by Marvel. The latest X-Men series is expected to be ready for worldwide distribution by the summer of 2007.
