In a joint effort, the Weinstein Co. and Warner Bros. will distribute the upcoming computer animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, reports Variety, via Coming Soon. Aiming for an early 2007 release, the project will be grittier than its live-action predecessors, in the spirit of the comic book series. Animation veteran Kevin Munroe will direct the untitled Ninja Turtles film, along with writing the screenplay in consultation with Ninja Turtles comic book co-creator Peter Laird.
