For the first time this year, ticket sales for the top ten weekend films did not reach at least $70 million. In addition, these last two weekends have held the worst grosses for an October weekend top ten in the last six years. Nevertheless, these disappointing numbers have not seemed to affect Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, which fell only 25% to grab an estimated $8.7 million. The movie’s domestic gross thus far is approximately $44.1 million. Meanwhile, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride fell 43% to about $2 million this weekend. Currently, the stop-motion flick has taken in around $50.7 million domestically. For info on how the live-action releases fared over the weekend, be sure to check out Box Office Guru.
