Ultimate Disney have just posted a review on the first volume of the new Timeless Tales DVD line, a collection of shorts based on classic stories. This volume contains the four Silly Symphony shorts The Pied Piper, The Grasshopper and the Ants, The Tortoise and the Hare and The Three Little Pigs, as well as the 1990 Mickey Mouse short The Prince and the Pauper. Although the Silly Symphonies remain in their original aspect ratio of 1:33:1, the Mickey short is cropped from its original 1:66:1 dimensions to a modified 1:33:1 aspect ratio, thus resulting in image loss. And aside from a little storybook of The Prince and the Pauper and the standard trailers for other Disney DVDs, there are no bonus features.
