The ASIFA-Hollywood Blog reports that the nominations for the 33rd Annual Annie Awards have just been announced. Aardman’s Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit leads the pack with 16 nominations, including Best Animated Feature, Directing in an Animated Feature, Writing in an Animated Feature, and all four nominations in the Voice Acting in an Animated Feature category. DreamWorks’ Madagascar is next garnering nine nominations, including Best Animated Feature and multiple nods in the Effects and Storyboarding categories. Cartoon Network’s Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends leads the TV nominees with 5 nominations. The Annie Awards recognize outstanding achievement across 22 categories covering overall excellence as well as individual achievement in areas ranging from production design, character animation, and effects animation to storyboarding, writing, directing, music and voice acting. The Annie Awards 2005 ceremony will be held February 4, 2006, at Glendale’s historic Alex Theatre.
