The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe roared with an impressive debut, taking the top spot in last weekend’s box office, with $65,556,312 from 3,616 theaters. In the meantime, another Disney release, Chicken Little, fell to #9 with $2,306,627 from 2,326 theaters, for a total domestic cume of $127,280,176. At #12 was the IMAX version of The Polar Express, taking in $931,603 from 66 theaters. Thus far, the Holiday favorite’s re-release has grossed $3,821,167 domestically. Another Warner Bros. animated film, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, stepped in at #37 with $58,794 from 208 theaters, bringing its domestic box office intake to $53,290,999. Finally, from 178 theaters, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit captured $40,807, for a domestic sum of $55,372,785.
