In somewhat animation-related news, and what we’re sure will quickly become known as the “swimsuit model” (just check out those trunks!), actor Brandon Routh’s official website has posted the first look at the Man Of Steel’s new costume. With darker colors (reminiscent more of “Bad Superman” in the third of the Christopher Reeve series) and a neckline that’s a little too snug, the rather underwhelming image doesn’t really deliver on the promise anticipated by last week’s photos of Routh as Clark Kent. The UK Supanet site has more on the long history of Superman’s return to the big screen, while also reporting that Singer has confirmed Marlon Brando in his role as Jor-El, Superman’s father, which will draw on unused archive footage from the first two films. Superman Returns‘ first teaser will debut this summer with another DC Comics revival, Batman Begins, while the full trailer is set to appear attached to Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire in November.
