May 10th, 2005, Las Cruces, NM – Raven Tales Productions is proud to announce that they have entered full production on a 13 episode television series already licensed for Canadian and international broadcast. In addition Raven Tales has landed licensing deals for interactive games, toys and books based on the Raven Tales characters.
The full television production follows a twelve-month whirlwind tour of international film festivals where Raven Tales garnered over twenty awards, including the National Film Board of Canada award for Best Animation at the Real to Reel film festival and Best Animated Film at the American Indian Film Festival.
“It has been an amazing run,” said Simon James, director of Raven Tales. “We’ve been picked up not only in Canada but seven other international markets. We’re still looking for a broadcaster and distributor in the United States, but it should just be a matter of time.”
Raven Tales is the first computer-animated film written, produced, designed, voiced by and directed by an all Native American team. Raven Tales follows the comic misadventures of Raven and his friends Eagle and Frog among the first people and the strange creatures at the beginning of the world. Each story is based on aboriginal myth and features designs by internationally known artist/carver/storyteller Simon James.
