AWN reports that Buena Vista Interactive and video game developer Capcom will release two video games this year based on Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Oogie’s Revenge will be released for PlaySation2 and Xbox, while The Pumpkin King will be available for Game Boy Advance. Senior Vice President and General Manager of Buena Vista Games Graham Hopper said, “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas is an incredibly rich property that remains popular and highly visible throughout Disney theme parks and merchandise from Disney Consumer Products. The console game platform provides a compelling medium to extend the movie’s characters, storyline and environments and will help expand the franchise to new audiences. We’re excited to continue working with Capcom Japan, the developer of the game, to enhance the title as well as adding the Xbox platform to our launch plans”. Both titles will be released in the US in October.
