The Newport Beach Film Festival, which runs April 21-30, has recently released its full schedule. There are a number of animation events (some can be previewed on the website) as part of the festival, with perhaps the biggest announcement being that they are going to screen Dan Lund’s Dream On Silly Dreamer, which chronicles the laying off of hundreds of Walt Disney Feature Animation employees in the last couple years (see official site and our previous review here at Animated News), on Saturday, April 23. A representative from Animated News will be in attendance at this screening. A number of Oscar-nominated shorts, including Chris Landreth’s winner Ryan, are also scheduled to be shown.
