In what seems like a “boomerang” time for the pinked one himself, the latest round of Pink Panther news has just come in. Originally timed to coincide with the upcoming theatrical release of Steve Martin’s The Pink Panther, which was just postponed until February 10th 2006, the original animated Pink Panther is to make his debut on the Boomerang cartoon channel this June 27th. The half-hour show, airing daily between 7:30-8pm ET, will be comprised of the 90 theatrical shorts produced from 1964-1977, plus 84 animated episodes produced for television from 1978-1995, including the first, Oscar-winning The Pink Phink cartoon and the last outing, Driving Mr Pink. 124 of these shorts had been announced for release on DVD along with new editions of Blake Edwards’ classic live-action comedy films starring Peter Sellers, but these are also now delayed along with the new Martin remake until further notice. More news on those as we get it.
