E! Online, via Yahoo! Movies, indicates that after grossing approximately $500 million worldwide, Madagascar is about to get a sibling. With Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, and Jada Pinkett Smith set to return as the voices of the main characters, codirectors Eric Darnell and Tom McGrath will be back for Madagascar 2, as well as producer Mireille Soria. Meanwhile, the band of penguins will also appear in the sequel, in addition to having two films of their own. The first of these two films, the 10-minute A Christmas Caper, will be attached to Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, while the other penguin project will be a direct-to-video movie, coming in 2009. Madagascar 2 is expected to hit theaters in 2008.
