The 10th Anniversary DVD of Pixar’s first film Toy Story is being released today. If you have previous versions of Toy Story on DVD don’t throw those away or eBay them but check out what this new release has to offer, including: Disney/Pixar’s “First Ever” DTS 5.1 audio track, newly remastered Dolby 5.1 EX Track, highest digital “Bit Rate” ever used for a Disney/Pixar Film, new menus featuring more than 500 pieces of previously unavailable concept art, “Legacy of Toy Story” documentary, “Filmmakers Reflect” interview with John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Joe Ranft and Pete Doctor, “Making Toy Story” documentary, and a Sneak Peek at Cars.
A letter from John Lasseter included in the liner notes states, in part, “We’ve made many more movies since [Toy Story], and over the years they’ve become more technically sophisticated, but story and characters have always been our first priority.” On December 26 Toy Story 2 will be getting a similar treatment and promises even more information on Cars.
Happy Birthday Toy Story
