The Sydney Morning Herald [free registration required], via Coming Soon, has a look at the set of Charlotte’s Web in Australia. One tidbit from the article is that unlike the 1973 Charlotte’s Web animated movie, the new film will be closer to the book. In other words, audiences should expect farm and animal life to be portrayed more realistically than before. “We have Charlotte be what spiders are, which is the species scorned. Birds want to eat her, humans want to step on her and most animals don’t want her near them,” says Charlotte’s Web producer Jordan Kerner. To help make author E. B. White’s vision appear on-screen, Kerner has been provided with unprecedented access to White’s notes on the novel. Charlotte’s Web will weave in theaters on June 23, 2006.
