There’s been a big update at DVD Toons recently, with several new animation-on-disc reviews. Currently heading up the site is coverage of today’s release of Father Of The Pride: The Complete Series: “More akin to the flashy, but ultimately empty, Shark Tale than their current, refreshingly simple Madagascar, DreamWorks’ debut animation series isn’t a bad show, and in the right frame of mind there are plenty of guffaws to be had, but not without leaving a slightly bad taste in the mouth. Better are Siegfried & Roy themselves, saving the show from the brink. Some decent extras and the amount of content turn out to be good value on disc and, though no classic, it’s entertaining enough”.

Also on the site is a look back at Hanna-Barbera’s past, with reviews of Wacky Races: The Complete Series and both of its spin off shows: Dastardly & Muttley: The Complete Series, and the Saturday morning serial inspired The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop: The Complete Series. Just added to the mix is a look at the return of the Superfriends: Season 2, the recent release that packs in another 16 episodes. All of the discs mentioned here are out now.
