DVD Answers has the cover art and specs for the DVD debuts of some films that mix both animation and live-action. Bonus features for The Mask’s New Line Platinum Series DVD release include a commentary with director Chuck Russell, a second commentary with filmmakers and New Line Cinema’s Bob Shaye, a “Introducing Cameron Diaz” featurette, a “What Makes Fido Run” featurette, a “Cartoon Logic” featurette, a “Return to Edge City” featurette, and the deleted scenes featured on the original DVD release. Meanwhile, the Son of the Mask DVD offers extras including a commentary with director Lawrence Guterman and writer Lance Khazei, deleted scenes with optional director commentary, a “Chow Bella: Hollywood’s Pampered Pooches” featurette, a “Creating Son of the Mask: Digital Diapers and Dog Bytes” featurette, a “Paw Prints and Baby Steps: On the Set of Son of the Mask” featurette, a storyboard and conceptual art gallery, and the film’s theatrical trailer.
In addition, the Racing Stripes DVD contains an audio commentary with the director, additional scenes including alternate endings, a “How to Make Animals Talk” documentary, an “Animal Acting 101” featurette, a “Music of Racing Stripes with Sting and Bryan Adams” featurette, outtakes, interactive challenges, and trailers, along with some eastereggs. Both Mask films will be available to own on May 17, 2005, while Racing Stripes will run into stores on May 10, 2005.
