Reuters reports that DreamWorks Animation has signed a three-year deal to create films with computers that have Advanced Micro Devices Inc. chips. AMD announced the deal at a broadcasting trade show in Las Vegas, as the company courts the film industry’s technology decision makers. DreamWorks stated that with the help of AMD’s Opteron processor, the studio was able to make a scene featuring over 900 moving animated creatures – a “technical achievement” – in the upcoming computer animated comedy Madagascar.
