A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far away, the first bout of Star Wars mania was closely linked with the antics of Jim Henson’s Muppets, thanks to the stars of those films appearing on The Muppet Show, the millions of shared fans of both series, plus behind-the-scenes ties including Frank Oz’s performance as Yoda. Now the Muppets, Star Wars and an Oz of a different kind are tied again, and what better way to shake the Jedi blues is there than to kick back and relax with another little green puppet and join Kermit and co in the debut of their latest, hitting TV screens just as the last chapter of the space saga opens. The Muppets’ Wizard Of Oz, airing tonight on ABC at 8pm/7central, also showing in HD, promises to be a typically warped retelling of the classic story, with Ashanti, Queen Latifah and even Quentin Tarantino turning up for the fun! There’s much more at the official website, which points toward the CD soundtrack and DVD release, coming August 9.
Dont forget! The Muppets' Wizard Of OZ premieres tonight!
