Here we go again. The Orlando Sentinel (link via Laughing Place) has the scoop on a new lawsuit being slapped against Disney by one Royce Mathew claiming that key plot points for Disney’s live action hit Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl were stolen from a 1995 short film of his. Many of the plot points of Mathew’s untitled short film do sound very similar to those of the big budget hit so this story is likely to be around for a while. Let’s just hope the idea for Pirates of the Caribbean 2 is not stolen from Dora the Explorer’s Pirate Adventure.
