Jim Hill looks at recent events which lead one to believe that Disney and Pixar may reunite for a deal composed of either three or five films. The three picture deal would contain Toy Story 3, Monsters, Inc. 2, and Rataouille, as the five picture deal would include Toy Story 3, Monsters, Inc. 2, Finding Nemo 2, Rataouille, and another movie to be named later. At the moment, however, a debate is raging over when a new deal should be reached, with all eyes on Disney’s leap into CGI territory, Chicken Little. Some people feel as though Disney should wait until after Chicken Little enters theaters, for if it becomes a hit, Disney could have somewhat of an advantage in the Pixar negotiations. Meanwhile, others suggest that a deal must be struck now, in case the film flops. Jim Hill Media has more on this story. Thanks to ‘ShyViolet’ at the Animated-News Forum for pointing out the article.
