With the continuing development of the site, the current staff is looking for new, enthusiastic and articulate animation fans with plenty of spare time to come and write up animated news stories from around the web. If you’re interested in joining our team, read on for details!

The Animated News team is comprised of a group of devoted animation aficionados providing a free news and information service. Contributors would be asked to search the web for specific types of animation and related stories pertaining to all types of animated content, as well as items on the creators, artists, technicians and personnel involved. The site also aims to keep up with developments in the business and software sides of animation production.

Though they would be a great plus, industry links are non-essential. A good, basic knowledge of computers and using the internet is required, and posting stories to the main page is a simple technique which can be learned easily on the job. Writers will be credited, but should be prepared to format their stories and have them edited under the set Animated News guidelines, and be dedicated to posting at least once a day to the site.

As an unbiased news site, it is preferable that personal views are checked at the door, but that’s not to say there’s no interest in passion – applicants will be contributing to the site under their own steam and without payment. Even though this is the case, the site is run as any professional publication, with one administrator and one editor supervising content. In respect as to what appears on the main page and the site’s chat forums, their decisions are final.

To apply for a position, please sign up at the Animated News Forum – registration is easy and free. Once a member, please make yourself known in the NEW CONTRIBUTORS thread, with any details you may wish to leave that may back up your application, though this is optional and not a requirement. Further details will be posted to you via Private Messaging and you will be notified if you have been chosen to join the team.

 HOW TO APPLY

  • Join the Animated News Forum. Registration is easy and free.
  • Make a post in the New Contributors forum. Let us know your name, what you want to be called (making this your forum username would be a good idea), and any info you would like us to know about you.
  • We’ll get back to you with more details, but basically from here you can start finding stories and writing them up (look at some of the stories on our site for examples). Post these in the New Contributors forum. We’ll watch for how well you find the type of stories we report on, look at your style of writing, and see how well you might fit on the team.
  • After a few weeks of watching all the candidates we’ll pick several to join the Animated News staff.
