Ossie Davis, well-known for his roles dealing with racial injustice, has passed away at the age of 87, an aide said Friday. The actor was found dead in his hotel room in Miami Beach, Fla. At the time, he was involved in the film Retirement. Davis’ career involved not only acting, but directing and producing as well. Recent roles of his included Malcolm X (1992), Grumpy Old Men (1993), The Client (1994), and Twelve Angry Men (1997). Davis also was the voice of the fatherly figure Yar in Disney’s Dinosaur (2000).
