The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the 42 original songs from eligible feature-length films released in 2005 up for consideration for Oscars. Six are from animated films:
“Great Big World” from Hookwinked
“One Little Slip” from Chicken Little
“Remains of the Day” from Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride
“Shine” from Robots
“Shoulder to Shoulder” from Pooh’s Heffalump Movie
“Tell Me What You Already Did” from Robots
In 77 years of awards, animated films have won the Best Song Oscar 9 times. Final nominations for the 78th Academy Awards will be announced on Tuesday, January 31, 2006; awards will be presented on March 5, 2006.
