Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie opens today on 2,411 screens according to Box Office Mojo. The Warner Brothers film, “based on the trading card and television series”, “is the story of Yugi, a boy captivated by the card game sweeping the nation: Duel Monsters! But there’s more to the game than meets the eye, for it contains ancient mystical energies that can change the course of history!” BOM predicts the film will open in 7th place this weekend with $5.6 million. The critics at Rotten Tomatoes don’t have high hopes for Yu-Gi-Oh – the film has an abysmal 0% rating, with all 37 reviews so far panning the film.
