George Cepeda writes in to ask about the 2-disc edition of Sylvain Chomet’s The Triplets Of Bellville that was rumored for release in Canada. “There’s no listing. The DVDs out on May 4 and May 18 are identical! Something screwy is going on,” says George, referring to the US edition through Sony Pictures and the similar Alliance Atlantis disc due for Canada a couple of weeks later. However, Amazon.ca is listing this mysterious edition. Going for $38.44 CND, this is a marked increase on the price of the other two ($23 and $28), also listing the film as being in the French language (the US edition uses the Belleville Rendezvous English print). Most intriguing is the “Usually ships in 2 to 3 days” line – could this be the anticipated 2-disc French Canadian version, already released?
