The WB television network holiday slate this year features several perennial favorites, the biggest being the exclusive network broadcast airing of the The Wizard of Oz. The film will air on Sunday, December 19 at 7:30pm ET. The Wizard of Oz, based on the book by L. Frank Baum and starring Judy Garland, will be broadcast for the very first time in high definition.

On Thursday, December 9 at at 8pm ET, comes Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer. Based on the song by Elmo and Patsy, the show is about a boy on the quest of a lifetime to track down his missing Grandma on Christmas Eve and prove that Santa Claus is real. Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer was directed by acclaimed animator Phil Roman. Roman was an animator on films such as Sleeping Beauty, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, and The Lord of the Rings; directed 16 Charlie Brown specials (including A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving), 9 Garfield specials (including A Garfield Christmas and Garfield’s Thanksgiving), and the film Tom and Jerry: The Movie; and was a producer on The Simpsons, The Critic, and King of the Hill. The beloved 1966 animated classic How The Grinch Stole Christmas will air Friday, December 10 at 8pm ET. Featuring the distinctive voice of Boris Karloff as the narrator and the Grinch, the playful rhymes of Dr. Seuss, and direction from animation legend Chuck Jones, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is must-see Christmas TV!

Following The Grinch is A Scooby-Doo Christmas at 8:30pm ET. The first primetime holiday special from Scooby-Doo and his friends has the gang visiting the town of Winter Hollow where strangers are not welcome and Christmas is not discussed. Can they unmask the headless snowman and return the spirit of Christmas back to the townspeople?
