LIAF is a fantastic 6-day celebration of the very best of international and local animation showcasing the painstaking, amazing work of artists and filmmakers who have discovered that in this medium they can go anywhere their imagination leads them. The work can be funny, poignant, beautiful, exquisite or startlingly simple and is made frame by frame with everything from pieces of string to million dollar computer programs. Special programmes include a focus on Estonia’s remarkable tradition of animation, a retrospective of Priit Parn, master Estonian animator, the sublime animated documentaries programme and the Czech feature film Jan Werich Fimfarum.
