TLU Title)After months of stagnancy, The-Last-Unicorn.net, the official website for the live-action production of The Last Unicorn, has finally seen a change. Not just any change, either – the whole website has been revamped! With a new look and layout, the site still continually mentions that it is only a work-in-progress representation, with much more to come in the months ahead. This should be a big sigh of relief for all of the anxious fans of TLU, worried that the project had been postponed or scrapped altogether. The site looks much more convincingly professional now, with a cleaner look and most of the previously available copyrighted material (like the script, concept art and most of the storyboards) now omitted from its pages.

The Last Unicorn originated as a book, written by Peter S. Beagle and published in 1968. In 1982, it was brought to the screen as an animated film by Rankin-Bass, and has since become a cult hit on video, finally being lined up this year for a DVD release on March 16th. This new live-action film is not a remake of the animated version, but a whole new adaptation of the original book, with the screenplay penned by Beagle himself. The new film reunites many of the animated film’s original voice actors, including Christopher Lee, Angela Lansbury, and Mia Farrow. It is tentatively scheduled for a Christmas 2005 release.
