DVD Toons’ Anthony Lizarraga takes an early sneak peek at the WB’s Batman: The Animated Series, Volume 1, a DVD collection of 28 episodes. “There has never been a truer Batman than the one producers Bruce Timm and Eric Rodomski gave us between 1992 and 1995. American animated television programming was redefined, and the level of maturity that we had long sought from Japanese animation had finally arrived in our television sets. Was [the DVD] worth the wait? You bet. While the work doesn’t compare to the Looney Tunes collection or the Flintstones, the quality and features are still above par to other animation sets. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series, the time has come to purchase what you have demanded and waited for all these years”.

Also on the site, the Super Mario Bros. cartoon show doesn’t hold up quite so well for Rodney Figueiredo as he reviews a new disc of their adventures, Mario Mania. Both titles are out on DVD from Tuesday.
