The annual videogame extravaganza in Los Angeles is over. Among hundreds of games presented at the show, there were several based on animated movies or TV series. Here is a list of the most interesting ones. Click on more to see screenshots and a brief description.

Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Attack of the Twonkies – THQ – PS2/XBOX/GC
Based on Nickelodeon’s movie series, this action adventure game puts you in the role of Jimmy, trying to save the world from a ferocious alien. Fortunately Jimmy can create sophisticated gadgets to help him in this fight.

Astro Boy – SEGA – PS2
Based on the famous boy robot and created by Osamu Tezuka, this game is a third-person action title.
The player takes on the role of Astro Boy, and under the guidance of Professor Ochanomizu he has to defeat a sinister plot by Professor Tenma.

Cowboy Bebop – BANDAI – PS2
Our favourite bounty hunter comes back in this action adventure title, along with his partners Jet and Fayne. The player will be able to control Spike and his friends, in a quest for the most dangerous criminals in the solar system. Each character will have unique abilities, and the storyline will reveal new detail of the Cowboy Bebop universe.

Digimon Rumble Arena 2 – BANDAI – GC/XBOX
Choose among 40 different Digimon in this fighter, along with three friends for multiplayer mayhem.

Disney’s Aladdin – CAPCOM – GBA
A platformer based on Disney’s animated movie, where you can control Aladdin and his monkey friend Abu.

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch 2 – DISNEY INTERACTIVE – GBA
In this sequel you play as both Stitch and Lilo to rescue Nina and David who have been kidnapped by the evil Hamsterviel. Platforming, racing and strategy as well as multiplayer are some of the game modes available.

Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel – Square Enix – PS2
Based on the manga and anime of the same name, this game is a weapon-centric acton/RPG with more than 30 minutes of original animation created specifically from the creators of the show.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – BANDAI – PS2
This game, based on the TV series of the same name, is a third person shooter where you can use either sexy Makoto or her partner Batou to take on ordes of enemies.

Kingdom Hearts II – SQUARE ENIX – PS2
This is the sequel to the highly acclaimed RPG featuring Disney and Square characters. Sora, Donald, and Goofy are joined by a Jedi-cloaked Mickey Mouse as they continue their adventure into other worlds and battle the forces of an evil mummy-wrapped ruler.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories – SQUARE ENIX – GBA
This RPG continues the storyline from the PS2 original. It is an action adventure with isometric view and uses a card based battle system.

Nicktoons – THQ – GBA
A collaboration of popular Nickelodeon heroes and villains come together and cross over into multiple Nickelodeon cartoon environments, interacting with each other and working together to solve puzzles in this ultimate Nick gaming adventure.

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas – CAPCOM – PS2
This action game is based on Henry Selick’s stop-motion movie masterpiece. Players slip into the role of Jack Skellington, King of Halloween, and relive the adventures set in Tim Burton’s dark world.

Polar Express – THQ – PC/PS2/GC
An adventure game based on the CGI-animated Robert Zemeckis movie starring Tom Hanks and based on the children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg.

Shaman King: Power of Spirit – KONAMI – PS2
Based on the popular manga nad anime series, this game is a card battling RPG adventure.

Shark Tale – ACTIVISION – PS2/GC/XBOX/PC
The upcoming Dreamworks movie becomes a 3D platform game in which you control Oscar, a wise-guy fish, through 25 underwater levels.

Shrek 2 – ACTIVISION – PS2/GC/XBOX/PC

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Movie – THQ – PS2/GC/XBOX/PC
An all-new adventure for SpongeBob SquarePants, based on the animated feature film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 – KONAMI – PS2/XBOX
The famous sewer turtles are back for a four-player romp. Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael each have their own signature moves, sayings, and personalities, not to mention a cel-shaded visual style that looks very much like the current animated series.

The Incredibles – THQ – PS2/GC/XBOX/PC
Based on the upcoming Pixar blockbuster, this action platformer puts you in the tights of Mr. Incredible, a middle aged superhero fighting to save the world one laugh at a time.

Transformers – ATARI – PS2
Transformers is a fast-paced, single-player, third-person action/combat game allowing players to control of Optimus Prime, Hot Shot and Red Alert across 8 different environments on Earth and Cybertron.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monster Coliseum – KONAMI – PS2
