The Daily Record reports that director Quentin Tarantino will appear in The Muppets’ Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Dark Horizons adds that the synopsis for the film revolves around Dorothy Gale (R&B singer Ashanti), who longs to hit the big time, while she works at the diner of her Auntie Em (possibly Queen Latifah, who is in final negotiations for the role) in a small Kansas town. There, she meets the Munchkins (played by the Muppet rats), the Scarecrow (Kermit the Frog), the Tin Man (Gonzo) and the Cowardly Lion (Fozzie). The group’s journey leads them to the Wicked Witch (Miss Piggy), as a fight breaks out between Dorothy and the witch. Suddenly, the film cuts to Tarantino pitching to Kermit how the scene should be done. The Muppets’ Wonderful Wizard of Oz will premiere on ABC next spring.
