Ain’t It Cool News has the scoop on a project from writers Ed Solomon (Men in Black) and Chris Matheson (A Goofy Movie). In the stop-motion project that has already been in development for over a decade, two large, self-aware automatons have been built in World War II, with their only purpose being to kill Adolph Hitler. However, as the robots are waiting in their submarine, getting ready to fulfill their mission, word is received that Hiltler has killed himself. In other words, the automatons have lost their purpose. Thus, those in charge decide to just let the submarine sink to the bottom of the Atlantic. Flash forward, and we find the two robots have finally arrived on dry land, after walking on the ocean floor for the past 60 years. Meanwhile, Hitler, Mussolini, and Tojo have escaped from their secret cryo-chambers and, realizing that they were out of line with that “whole rule the world thing,” decide to do a knock-off play version of You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.
Voices already recorded for the project include Jack Black as Otto Maton, John C Reilly as Rob Ott, Billy Bob Thornton as The Holy Earth Father, Catherine O’Hara as Celeste Eelbody, Fred Armisen as Tojo, and…John Cleese as Hitler! Additionally, William H. Macy and Holly Hunter also provide voices for the film. Get this film a distributor now!
