In its second week in release, Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow, which opened with just over $14 million in the bank, has plummeted almost 60%, taking only $6.7m this past weekend. With a total $25m cume so far, the technologically ambitious movie will find it hard to recoup its reported $80m-plus production costs, and will likely put an end to talk of a rumored prequel and sequel already in the works. It is hoped the film may find more fans when it hits DVD, where the film’s amazing visual achievements can be studied frame by frame. The World Of Tomorrow opens this Friday, October 1st, in the UK.
