Ray Romano speaks to Latino Review about the status of Ice Age 2. “There’s a script and they’re negotiating and I think it’s going to happen. That’s what they tell me.” As for the plot of the sequel, Romano indicates “I read the script a couple months ago. What happens now is I think they’re worried about everything melting. I think it starts out where they have to flee because they’re about to get flooded.” Another interesting detail is that Romano’s character of the woolly mammoth Manny gets a love interest in Ice Age 2, as the actor notes, “I know Manny gets a girlfriend in it, my character. This is how sad I am, I’m excited about that. You know how you get, when you’re in a film and you’re going to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend, a little bit of excitement. I’m excited about my animated character having one. ‘I wonder if I’ll get a crush on her or something.’ She’s not even going to be in the studio.”
