According to Variety, Julia Roberts (Notting Hill) will headline the voice cast for Warner Bros. and Playtone’s CGI adaptation of John Nickle’s children’s book Ant Bully, voicing an ant named Hova, Shirley MacLaine, Paul Giamatti, Alan Cumming, Cheri Oteri and Ricardo Montalban will also lend their voices to the film. The film’s plot follows “a mischievous boy who menaces an ant colony and destroys its anthill with his water gun and gets shrunk to insect size and sentenced to hard labor in the colony”. The shrunken kid will be voiced by newcomer Zach Tyler. John Davis (Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius) is writing and directing the film, and is also producing the film via his DNA Prods. production company along with Playtone’s Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
