Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow is a souped up, highly stylized sci-fi adventure that places live actors in an animated environment. The creation of first-time director Kerry Conran (who spent eight years holed up in his bedroom coming up with the software and plan to make the film a reality), The World Of Tomorrow is set in a 1930s New York completely rendered in CGI. But, unlike the upcoming Polar Express, Conran knows that humans cannot yet be realistically portrayed in animation, hence the inclusion of such names as Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie in the live-action cast. Even more so than other recent fare, everything else in the film is computer generated, which has led to an amazing look. However, reviews at AICN are starting to pose the question: does it all come together?
