Santa Clarita, CA – July 4, 2004 – Dan Ritchie, author of the award winning paint and animation software “Project Dogwaffle”, has announced the availability of a new free version.

Project Dogwaffle 1.2 is a new, free paint program developed by animator Dan Ritchie of Santa Clarita California. This is a new product based on the powerful architecture of version 2 of the commercial art and animation software released in January 2004. Dogwaffle 1.2 is a light, yet powerful tool for todays artist.

Dogwaffle 1.2 is not a stripped-down demo of our software – it’s a fully functional version with some new features too. It is not save-disabled, there is no time-limit, and no registration is needed.

“We felt that our aging free version (1.11b) was in need of an update, since it was written for earlier operating systems and we wanted our users to have the speed and power of our newest version,” said Ritchie of squirreldome.com, the developer of the project since 1997. “We’ve chopped out some of the fat for this release, like help files. Don’t worry, those can still be found on-line. We really think users will be surprised by how much power this program actually has, once they dig into it.”

Project Dogwaffle version 1.2 is available now for free downloading and use, and can be found here.

The latest full commercial version is 2.1, and can be found on the sales page at squirreldome.com/cyberop. With it, you will get many more natural media settings, a wealth of animation capabilities such as onion skin and an exposure sheet, and lots more. The commercial version is priced very affordably at only US $67.
