EISNER’S SHAREHOLDER SUPPORT DECLINING

No indication of CEO-chair split

A whopping 43% of Walt Disney shareholders withheld support for Mouse topper Michael Eisner today, the company announced at the end of a marathon five-and-a half-hour annual meeting in Philadelphia. Speaking earlier at the meet, neither Eisner nor presiding director George Mitchell indicated plans to split the CEO-chairman roles or take any other action in response to the significant vote of no-confidence they knew was coming. Most Wall Streeters believe the company must make some change, the burning question is still when that would happen.
