In addition to discussing a variety of other topics at a Tokyo news conference late last week, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed the new Nintendo DS hand-held devices’ wireless capabilities. The Nintendo DS hand-held device will be used in a cross-promotional initiative for the newest Pokemon movie, set for release in Japan next summer. IGN explains, “If you put any of the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games into the new Nintendo DS and go to the movie theater, you’ll be able to receive new Pokemon via WiFi as the story progresses. You’ll be able to use this service just by taking a DS and Pokemon to a compatible theater.”
