First of all, one can hear the full soundtrack to Shrek 2, at AOL Music. In addition, “monkeyboy12” at the AN Forums informs us that after the first five minutes of Shrek 2 premiere on Nickelodeon on May 18th, at 7pm, the clip will be available online at Nick.com. Meanwhile, USA Today has two new articles concerning Shrek 2: “In ‘toon’,” which deals with the past, present, and future of the Shrek universe; and “Shrek 2 stars: Happily dysfunctional family,” in which Shrek 2 stars Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy discuss their feelings toward the “fractured fairy-tale sequel.”

Within the earlier article lies some interesting information about future Shrek adventures. As for the Shrek Broadway adaption, Jeffrey Katzenberg confirms that Sam Mendes will be directing, the show will be a musical, and the production will likely have Shrek‘s story with parts of Shrek 2. Concerning Shrek 3, “We started six months ago,” states Katzenberg. What is the plot for the second sequel? Shrek learns to be a father, as a baby ogre is set to appear. As the Shrek films’ director Andrew Adamson believes, “In the first Shrek, he learned to love. In the second, he learns to love himself. So thematically, and having just had one myself, a child would require him to say, ‘I’m comfortable enough to be a mentor.'” And yes, Shrek 4 is going to happen as well.
