Moviehole is reporting that the sequel to the surprise 2001 hit Cats And Dogs, originally to have been directed by Kevin Lima (A Goofy Movie, Tarzan, 102 Dalmatians), is on hold, according to animation supervisor Todd LaBonte. “We did tests for it like two years ago – but it’s been put on the backburner. We’ve got a different cast of cats and dogs this time”, LaBonte says, referring to the fact that original voice of Lou the Beagle “has become slightly more well-known” thanks to his starring role as Spider-Man and would not be returning to the film, still officially in pre-production as Tinkles’ Revenge.
