Kid-et-Taka (6k image) Jean-François Laguionie’s new movie L’Île de Black Mor is coming to French theaters this week. The film marks the return of the famed French director to the silver screen. The story is based on the book that Laguionie wrote inspired by his youth’s favourite writers, from Joseph Conrad to Robert Louis Stevenson. Set in 1803, It narrates the adventures of a young orphan pursuing a fabulous treasure described in the diary of Black Mor, a notorious pirate who is the kid’s hero. According to Laguionie, the making of this movie has been an adventure in itself, marred by delays, budget restrictions, refusals from TV producers, etc. Only the determination of the director and the crew has made it happen.
