CNN Online reports that Astro Boy got the help of a real life little boy robot recently, when Sony’s humanoid Qrio entered a voice booth to record lines for an episode of the new incarnation of the show. Qrio, which stands for “quest for curiosity”, isn’t a regular Sony product, but works instead as an “ambassador” for the Tokyo-based electronics and entertainment company, using software that changes text into an electronic voice. “I couldn’t believe it was a robot” said impressed 16-year-old Miki Maruyama, an actress who used a microphone next to the robot’s to perform the children’s voices, “It said the lines better than me”.
