Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland has been closed indefinitely after an accident sent a 10 year old and his parents to the hospital with minor back and neck injuries, SFGate.com reports. California Division of Occupational Health and Safety inspectors are investigating, and said “the ride will remain closed until we identify the cause of the accident and ensure that corrections are made.” In September 2003, a man was killed and ten others injured when a rail car crashed into a derailed train. Another collision in April 2004 during a test closed the ride again. “Twenty-four people have claimed injuries after riding the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad since mid-2001, the state reported last fall”.
